Thames River Transport
River travel in London used to be the way to get around, there was a thriving and busy port, goods were transported by river and if you wanted to get to the dock and duck for a half pint you hopped on a boat and made your way. This all came to an end with the advent of road transport and when the port was destroyed during the war it wasn't repaired again. For a city that made it's money from it's river we were pretty quick to desert her.

Until recently. There has been an upsurge in river travel with fast cats speeding up and down with people even commuting by boat.
County Hall has a pier just outside where you can hop on a boat for a good price. You can even use your oyster card as it is threaded into London's transport system.
Go on. Get on a boat.
