Jubilee Gardens

Right next door are the Jubilee Gardens, a public park created in 1977 to mark the Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II. To get to it just walk past The London Eye and you will see the park on your right hand side, the perfect place for lounging after a busy day in County Hall.

Right next door are the Jubilee Gardens, a public park created in 1977 to mark the Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II. To get to it just walk past The London Eye and you will see the park on your right hand side, the perfect place for lounging after a busy day in County Hall.
The park is the site of a memorial to the casualties of the International Brigades of the Spanish Civil War, especially the British Battalion which took very heavy casualties.

There were plans for a complete redesign of the gardens published in 2007 by the Jubilee Gardens Steering Group. No work has yet started but a tidying up of the park would add to the magic of The South Bank if handled sensitively.
